Chairman’s Vision

Sri Susil Kumar Misra

The strength and values of the SKM Group are rooted in the vision of its Chairman, Sri Susil Kumar Misra. Born in 1952, he graduated in Science with First Class First distinction from Ravenshaw College, one of India’s premier institutions. Trained under his father, the late visionary businessman Sri Ghanashyam Misra, he joined the family business in 1973.

Under his leadership, the group experienced multidimensional growth. In 1978, he pioneered the potato cold storage industry with a 1 lakh packet capacity. Today, SKM Group owns three cold storages in West Bengal with a combined 13 lakh packet capacity, making it the largest cold storage chain in Eastern India.

With time, his entrepreneurial vision guided the group into diverse sectors — iron ore mining, steel, healthcare, hospitality, education, and sports. Each venture reflects his values of integrity, excellence, and commitment to community growth, culminating in the establishment of the SKM Sports Foundation to nurture young talent and promote holistic development through sports.

CEO’s Vision

Mr. Subhasis Dasgupta

Subhasis Dasgupta, a Post-Graduate in Marketing, HR, and Information Technology, brings with him 23 years of leadership experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry. As a Member of the Executive Core Committee of East Bengal FC, and a sportsman who has represented his school and college in Cricket, Football, Table Tennis, and Badminton, he blends professional excellence with a lifelong passion for sports.

At SKM Sports Foundation, his vision is to build an environment where sports goes beyond competition — becoming a medium for character-building, discipline, and resilience. With football as the soul of the academy, supported by Badminton, Table Tennis, Athletics, and Swimming, the foundation is creating a platform for all-round sporting excellence.

His commitment is clear: every child deserves the chance to play, learn, and shine. Guided by dedicated coaches, passionate players, and supportive families, SKM Sports Foundation is steadily working towards a future where talent is nurtured, dreams are realized, and champions are born.
